Modular Variation |Saltygloo

This 2013 project was an exercise in 3D printing alternative and accessible materials. The designer, Emerging Objects used harvested sea salt and glue to print the panels. Each of the 336 panels allude to the crystalline structure of salt while having a unique appearance. The constancy is in the general structure and appearance of each panel. The variation is in the location of the extrusions and panel size. Because of the variation in the shape the panels form an igloo like structure.
